My artistic practice unfolds at the intersection of the body, new media and dance. For the last decade, following a long career as a dancer/choreographer working in the Contemporary Dance and Breakdance milieus, I have shifted towards creating artwork inspired by the culture and design of videogames. Into this multimedia landscape, I take with me the years of embodied knowledge from my dance days.
I design digital-physical experiences that nudge players back towards an awareness of their bodies in physical space by using methods that favour proposition over prescription.
As a multidisciplinary artist my work spans game design, virtual and expanded reality, moving image art, digitally mediated live performance and live streaming as well as participatory, game-like theatre. I’m also a crafting addict and in my spare time I sew, knit and felt.
